Putting On the Armour

A prayer for putting on the whole armour of God and standing firm in faith.

Revestindo-se da Armadura

Pray out loud:

“My Father and Almighty God, I declare that I am strengthened in You and in the power of Your might. As a child and soldier of the LORD, enlisted for battle, I choose today—in the Name of Yeshua—not to become entangled in the affairs of this life, and to put on Your whole armour, so that I may stand firm and unshaken against all the schemes, intentions and subtleties of the devil, as well as every threat, danger and attack.

Adonai, I am aware that my struggle should not be against people, but against the invisible powers of hell, against the evil spirits ruling the world’s present darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness. Therefore, I declare in faith that my spiritual position is seated with Christ in the heavenly places, with all the power of evil and its dominion beneath my feet. Although I have a physical body and live in a material world, I do not fight according to what is physical, visible or material, nor with human weapons, but with spiritual weapons, filled with the power of God and the knowledge of the Eternal One. They destroy and overthrow anything that sets itself up as a stronghold against His will and knowledge, so that in place of disobedience there may be a heart obedient to Christ.

I therefore stand firm in my position of faith and trust in God and His Word. With this spiritual posture, I gird my waist with the truth that sustains me, sanctifies me and guides my life. I reject and renounce every lie, self-deception and the deceitful subtleties of the devil. I put on the Breastplate of God’s Righteousness, which clothes me in the justification that comes from the Eternal God, freeing me from human and fleshly self-justification. Therefore, I renounce all self-righteousness and cover my emotions with the Blood of Yeshua, to trust in the righteousness of my heavenly Father.

I fit my feet with the readiness of the gospel of peace, always prepared with the firmness, stability and agility that I have in this gospel to proclaim the good news of Christ. Always taking my place as a minister of reconciliation, I have peace with You and am kept in peace because my mind is steadfast in You, because I trust in You.

I take up and raise the shield of faith, for this is the victory that overcomes the world: my faith in Yeshua as the Son of God, my LORD and Saviour. Faith in Your Word, the absolute truth. With this faith, I extinguish the lies, deceptions and fiery, seductive arrows of the evil one. I reaffirm that I walk by faith and not by sight, and that I triumph over the enemy through faith. I also take the helmet of salvation, believing that my mind is the mind of Christ. Therefore, I will be watchful so that whatever is true, honourable, just, pure, lovely and of good repute occupies my thoughts, and so that I remain steadfast in the thoughts, feelings and purposes of Yeshua. I take Your Word, the Truth that moves and sustains my life, the mighty sword of the Holy Spirit. With it, joined to the Blood of Yeshua, I overthrow and destroy the enemy’s weapons and am victorious.

Depending on the Holy Spirit, I pray at all times, crying out and making supplication, with thanksgiving. I watch and persevere in prayer for all God’s holy people, blessing them.

I am grateful to You for Your armour that protects me and for the spiritual weapons that equip me for battle. In humility, my LORD, I acknowledge that I am nothing and can do nothing without You, and that the power, ability and equipping I have are Yours and come from You. To You alone, God of love and goodness, I give all glory, honour, praise and thanksgiving. Clothed and strengthened, I praise and exalt You. I pray in the Name of Yeshua. Amen!”
